Wyoming has a semi-arid climate. Elevation has much to do with how much precipitation a certain area receives. The higher areas usually receive more precipitation, usually in the form of snow, while the lower areas get much less making them semi-arid. Homeowners in the area would have to mindful of just how dry the state is and prepare for it. There is also a low risk of tornadoes in the southeastern corner of the state to be aware of.
