Montana is the 4th largest state in the US after Alaska, Texas, and California. It also has one of the most varied geographical landscapes as well which affects much of its climates. The mountainous regions to the west experience very cold weather while the plains to the east experiences warm summers. The state is also famous for its rapid temperature changes and has the record for the largest change in temperature over a 24 hour period, which was 103 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to this homeowners in this state have to be prepared for rapid changes in temperature.
