Kentucky has a humid subtropical climate and the state experiences all four seasons. Along with experiencing all four seasons the state has also been victim to several forms of severe weather. It has been subject to major tornadoes, ice storms, blizzards and windstorms. Also, Kentucky is the only state to be bordered on all sides by rivers and has the most navigable miles of water in the US after Alaska. Because of this Kentucky has experienced several major floods. It is very prudent for homeowners in this region to have an emergency kit and escape plan at all times.
